If you decide to take the AMTRAK back to the O.C., please remember to book a ticket ahead of time, including booking a space for your bicycle.  Information can be found at:  https://www.amtrak.com/home.html

PLEASE NOTE:

  1. We will be riding on the 5 frwy for approx. 8.5 miles in each direction.  Ride with caution.  Ride single file.  Ride with a taillight on.  Keep a safe space between you and the rider in front of you.  ALWAYS pull off into the Frwy Rest Stops as crossing the exit lane is extremely dangerous. This is a great place to re-group and use the bathroom as well.
  2. On a long ride such as this, it is important that you buddy up to ride with someone who has a similar pace.  MAKE SURE AT LEAST TWO OTHER PEOPLE ON THE RIDE, INCLUDING SCOTT, HAVE YOUR PHONE NUMBER.  Let the other riders know if you plan to turn around earlier, if you have a mechanical, if you're having difficulties of any kind, or if you change your route in any way.
  3. NO SAG VEHICLE THIS TIME!  Bring plenty of nutrition and hydration fluids with you!  We will stop for lunch at mile 54.5, but you will need food / drink before and after.
  4. Bring your ID, Insurance Card, and Cash/Credit Card for the Deli and any emergencies.
  5. Bring a spare tube (even if you are running tubeless), CO2, multitool, and tire levers.  Clean and lube your chain before the ride, and make sure your tires are at the appropriate pressure.

**You do NOT have to be a member of R5 to ride with us, however we kindly ask all non-members to sign our Ride Waiver before joining our rides:
